Sami ja Anne Hub Helsingistä osallistuivat Yritystä Stadiin -messuille 6.5.2010. Ja kyllä kannatti! Mielenkiinto Hubia kohtaan oli valtaisa ja lisäksi solmimme paljon hyviä yhteistyökontakteja. Kerroimme Hubista messukävijöille taukoamatta ja kirjaimellisesti aamusta iltaan saakka. Aivan mahtavaa siis.
Lähdemmekin nyt kiihdyttämään Hubin toimintaa jo loistavan alkutaipaleen jatkoksi. Mutta sitä ennen lienee hyvä kerrata Hubin konseptia uusille, Hubista kiinnostuille ihmisille. Tässäpä hieman näkökulmaa.
- Hub Helsinki edistää sosiaalista innovaatiota pääkaupunkiseudulla.
- Hub Helsinki on uudenlainen työympäristö ja kohtaamispaikka, missä luovat ideat syntyvät ja kasvavat yhteistyöprojekteiksi ja mahdollisesti uusiksi yrityksiksi. Lyhyesti, Hub on fyysinen tila sekä mielen tila.
- Edistämme yhteiskunnallista yrittäjyyttä. Hubin filosofian keskiössä on avoimuus, läpinäkyvyys, yhteisöllisyys, rohkeus ja yhteiskunnalliset ja ympäristölliset kysymykset. Hubin ja Hubilaisten toimialaa ei ole ennalta määritelty, sen sijaan intohimo omaan alaan yhdistää Hubilaisia.
- Hub Helsinki koordinoi ja fasilitoi projekteja ja hankkeita. Projektityöntekijät kuhunkin hankkeeseen haetaan Hubilaisten joukosta.
- Hubin menestyksen kulmakivi ovat Hubilaiset, eli siis sinä, joka haluat olla mukana rakentamassa sekä omaa että Hubin uraa.
Olet luonnollisesti tervetullut työskentelemään Hubin tiloissa ma – pe 9 – 17 välillä. Osoitteemme on Aleksanterinkatu 16 -18.
Tapahtumakalenteri täydentyy koko ajan ja otamme myös mielellämme Hubilaisten ideoita vastaan. Kannattaa myös liittyä meidän postituslistallemme oikeanpuoleisesta linkistä. Sen kautta lähetämme viikottain tietoa tulevista tapahtumista (Hubin nettisivut uudistuvat lähitulevaisuudessa). Tarkoitus on myös järjestää Hub-talkoot parin viikon sisään ja sisustaa Hub entistä viihtyisämmäksi paikaksi, jossa on mukava työskennellä, tavata ihmisiä ja nauttia kahvista ja innovatiivisesta juttuseurasta. Infoamme ajankohdasta piakkoin, toivottavasti pääset paikalle päästämään sisäisen artistisi vapaaksi.

Hub Helsinki at the Fair of entrepreneurship
Sami and Anne of Hub Helsinki went to promote Hub to the Yritystä Stadiin Fair (an entrepreneurship fair) on Thursday 6th May. It was definitely worth it! People were extremely interested in the concept. We also established a number of useful contacts. We were telling people about the Hub literally without any breaks all day long, which was great.
The first few months of the Hub have been brilliant and we now need to build upon this good start. However, the Fair highlighted the need to clarify the concept of the Hub for new members.
- Hub Helsinki furthers social innovation in the greater Helsinki area.
- The Hub is a novel working environment and meeting place, where creative ideas are born and grow into projects with a prospect of growing into new enterprises. The Hub is both a physical and mental space.
- We represent and promote social entrepreneurship. At the core of the Hub philosophy are openness, transparency, courage, community focus and societal and environmental issues. The field of entrepreneurship is not prescribed, but what connects all Hubbers is passion towards their own work.
- The Hub coordinates and facilitates projects. Expertise for each project will be primarily sought from amongst our members.
- The members of Hub Helsinki form the cornerstone of our success. In other words, it is you who want to build up your own career in connection with the Hub.
Remember that our space is open and you are welcome to work there Mon-Fri 9am – 5pm. Address is Aleksanterinkatu 16 – 18.
Our events calendar is constantly being populated with new content. We also welcome your ideas regarding event topics. It’s a good idea to join our mailing list (the link on the right hand side) as we keep our members updated on forthcoming events on a weekly basis. We’ll organise a Hub gettogether to polish up our space a bit later in May. We hope you can join us and let your inner artist free to make the current Hub an even more attractive place to work, meet people and enjoy a cup of coffee and a reinvigorating chat.
